Christopher Hitchens: Premature Anti-Castroite

Nearing the end of his life, Christopher Hitchens no longer considered himself a Trotskyite, or even a socialist. But he never repudiated his Vietnam-era politics, and to his dying day praised the “heroic” Vietcong, despite Ho Chi Minh’s obvious Stalinist-style politics and how said politics were murderously applied after Saigon fell (Hitchens, like others in the New Left, blamed Minh and Pol Pot’s savagery on America’s relentless bombing campaign). Sen. Rand Paul Argues To Stop Communism In Cuba With Capitalism And Free Trade

While President Donald Trump was elected in large part to reverse the policies of his predecessor, Sen. The quality of Cuban… Keep Reading

The Cuban Challenge For All Americans

If we are to open up relations with Cuba we must do so with the intent of bringing the information age to all Cubans. That means insisting the Internet be made available to all Cubans, just as it is available to the Castro elites, the Pope, and Mr. Obama who all want new formalized relations. Cuba is a museum of two profound failures: the complete failure of communism to improve the quality of life for all Cubans, despite all it stole on behalf of the poor; and the second miserable failure of the US embargo to end Castro’s anti-American  communism… Keep Reading
