America Lost The Cold War

Upon reading the title of this article, you were likely confused, if not gobsmacked by the idea. “‘America lost the Cold War?!’ Absurd!” I can hear you saying. And indeed, the very thought of it seems pretty absurd–after all, The USA is still around, and the Soviet Union has long since collapsed. That should summarily disprove the very thesis of this article…right?

As you could probably assume, I am going to be arguing contrary to that fact, mainly due to one reason: The Cold War was allegedly never supposed to be about defeating The Soviet Union…so much as it was about defeating communism on the whole–l’internationale. Thus, judging the end result of the cold war should be dependent on judging whether or not capitalism prevailed over communism on a global scale.

Again, this would seem like a question that can be very easily answered in favor of capitalism. For the most part, there are no command economies around anymore (and the ones that exist, such as China, are largely intertwined with capitalist economies), and neither the hammer and sickle nor the red star are particularly prevalent on flags these days, except for a few countries like Vietnam that are for the most part, not major players on the world stage.

And therein lies the confusion.

The writings of Yuri Bezmenov, a defector from the Soviet Union to the United States, should clarify how, contrary to all conventional wisdom, communism handily won the cold war. In his “Love Letter To America,” he details how ‘The Real Driving force in this war is ideological…an integral part of this war is ideological subversion–the process of changing the perception of reality.” More importantly, he knows this because he himself was trained as a KGB agent specializing in ideological subversion.

He cites the “Rules for Revolution” blueprint as a step-by-step guide to subversion: while he admits that this document may not be authentic, he points out that what the document enumerates is essentially what he was trained to do:

1. Corrupt the young, get them interested in sex, take them away from religion. Make them superficial and enfeebled.

2. Divide the people into hostile groups by constantly harping on controversial issues of no importance.

3. Destroy people’s faith in their national leaders by holding the latter up for contempt, ridicule and disgrace.

4. Always preach democracy, but seize power as fast and as ruthlessly as possible.

5. Encourage government extravagance,  destroy credit, produce inflation

6. Encourage civil disorder and a lenient government attitude towards that disorder

7. Cause breakdown in the old moral virtues

Perhaps this is all starting to sound familiar to you?

Indeed, as I have stated in previous articles, all of these things are going on right now as we speak and more importantly The United States of America is the foremost progenitor of every single idea of the left wing since 1991.

Pretty strange for an allegedly “right wing” country, no?

(And yes, despite Trump’s election, the overall culture of the US is still overwhelmingly left wing. As I said in a few other articles, it’s merely a different TYPE of leftism.)

And of course, some of what we hate about modern culture can be traced directly back to the Soviet Union, rather than their ideological progeny. Notably including…political correctness.

Combine all of that with more overt government spying and oppression that has been well documented to be going on, and it seems that I have come to the inevitable conclusion. America, and indeed the west on the whole, lost the Cold War, and lost it handily.
