Will President Trump Allow Release Of The Final JFK Assassination Documents?

The assassination of former President John F. Kennedy is known as one of the most tragic moments in United States history. A popular, young President was riding along in a motorcade in Dallas when he was shot dead sitting next to his wife, Jackie. The assassin would later be caught and then killed before he could tell his side of the story. Since, many questions have lingered.

Was Lee Harvey Oswald indeed the shooter, or was he just a lowly patsy? If he was indeed the assassin, did he act alone?

The basic premise of the story is known through the Warren Commission, an investigation tasked with getting to the bottom of the tragic event. But there were a great deal of documents that were classified during the investigation and because of this, conspiracy theories persist. What exactly is being hidden? What don’t they want us to know?

Former President George H.W. Bush signed the JFK Records Act of 1992 in order to mandate the release of the remaining documents within 25 years. Thousands of pages still remain classified, and could be released to the public within the next month.

The deadline for release is October 26th of this year.

With all of that said, the President of the United States can halt the release of the documents if he so chooses. But given this point, there is no indication toward President Trump’s inclinations on this particular issue. He has never weighed in on the topic.

Statements from the Central Intelligence Agency, National Security Council, and the National Archives over the last few months have all indicated a review is ongoing. Essentially, nobody has news on a decision.

But should President Trump allow the release of the documents?

For the purpose of transparency, the documents should be released. This is one of history’s most important moments in the last century, and many questions still linger because of government secrecy. Knowing the full story and putting questions to rest is important for millions of Americans who want to turn the page on this dark chapter of our history.

Even the government secretly raised questions over the years. While some theorize about some level of involvement from the CIA, the CIA itself questioned the official story, and certain facts that may have been wrong.

This past July, the National Archives released hundreds of never-before seen documents pertaining to the Kennedy assassination. Not only was the assassination during the peak of the Cold War with the Soviet Union, but tensions were also high with Cuba at the time.

Was there a connection between Lee Harvey Oswald and the two communist countries? It’s entirely plausible. Not long before the assassination, Fidel Castro was quoted by the Associated Press as warning the United States that it would be in danger if it targeted any Cuban leaders.

President Donald Trump has a golden opportunity to give some peace to many Americans confused about one of history’s worst tragedies. It is also a golden opportunity to solidify himself in American history books as a true leader for the people, going down as the President who allowed the release of the final Warren Commission documents.

Do it for history and do it for transparency, Trump! It’s time that the final Kennedy assassination documents be released.

  • after all this time they have been thoroughly scrubbed!

  • The bank killed Kennedy. The moment LBJ took office he signed the country’s economy over to the Federal Reserve a privately owned bank by the richest people in the world that remains control over the money to this very day. Every dollar was backed by a piece of silver, but now the government can print more and more money whose value is based on your faith in the government, not a standardized global economy. Inflation doesn’t exist. What you’re seeing isn’t prices rising. It’s the dollar losing value as more and more pieces of what is basically monopoly money are printed.

  • If they aren’t released it won’t be because of trump. The single most important thing to learn from the JFK coup is that the president is not the most powerful man in America.

  • Yes, and any alien stuff too.

  • I knew a fellow who said he was part of the detail protecting JFK that day.. he said shots came from behind him and he was walking behind the car…JFK was caught in a crossfire… its a wonder no one else got killed…
