Trump To Attack EU, Call For Defending Civilization In Poland Speech

President Donald Trump’s much awaited speech in Warsaw, Poland later today is sure to satisfy his base, as he will call for a defense of Western civilization and criticize the European Union (EU) for its bureaucracy and lax immigration policies.

In excerpts of the speech released by the White House, Trump is set to declare that Poland should be “an example for others who seek freedom and who wish to summon the courage and the will to defend our civilization.”

Trump will then state, “While we will always welcome new citizens who share our values and love our people, our borders will always be closed to terrorism and extremism.”

Under the governing Law and Justice party, Poland has adopted Euroskeptic and nationalist policies, such as refusing to adhere to EU demands to take in Syrian refugees, leading the EU to threaten sanctions. Poland has also been panned by the EU for allegedly curtailing political freedoms, a farcical claim from a union that functions almost entirely un-democratically. Trump’s decision to start his European tour there, as well as the content of his speech, shows a clear intent by the Trump administration to show solidarity with the Polish leadership, and send a strong message to the globalists at the EU.

In a clear slight against the EU, Trump will go on to say, “the steady creep of government bureaucracy that drains the vitality and wealth of the people” is a “danger”, and that “Americans, Poles, and the nations of Europe value individual freedom and sovereignty.”

He will then call to “counter forces, whether they come from inside or out, from the South or the East, that threaten over time to undermine these values and to erase the bonds of culture, faith and tradition that make us who we are.”

“The fundamental question of our time is whether the West has the will to survive,” Trump will conclude.

Trump’s speech was written by his Senior Advisor, Stephen Miller, a nationalist closely aligned with immigration-critical elements within the administration, such as White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon and Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Miller is also joining Trump on this latest European trip.

Trump’s remarks are likely to inflame German Chancellor Angela Merkel, a staunch defender of the EU and a critic of the Polish government, whom Trump is set to meet this evening in Hamburg, Germany.
