Rand Paul Meets President Donald Trump To Talk Health Care

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)  met President Donald Trump today, according to recent tweets by the Senator. “Headed to meet with [Donald Trump] this afternoon. The bill is currently not real repeal and needs major improvement. I’ll discuss w/ him how to fix bill & get more to a YES on real repeal, things I’ve tried to tell Senate leaders with no result so far,” Paul said. A White House official also confirmed the meeting to Roll Call. After the meeting, Paul said the following on Twitter: “Just came from WH. [Donald Trump] is open to making bill better. Is Senate leadership?” Paul’s challenge to Senate leadership echoes his remarks yesterday, when he slammed them for excluding his office from talks about the health care reform. Keep Reading

Birther In The Beltway: Prominent Obama Critic Given White House Press Credentials

In the age of President Donald Trump, alternative media is being legitimized and validated like never before. This titanic shift is reflected in who is receiving White House press credentials. Jerome Corsi, a reporter who cast doubt on the legitimacy of President Obama’s birth certificate, will be covering the White House on behalf of Alex Jones’ Infowars. “In an epic blow to the mainstream media’s control of the narrative, Infowars has officially received White House Press Credentials that will allow Washington Bureau Chief Jerome Corsi to attend White House press briefings,” the official announcement stated. Corsi’s first briefing came earlier today with Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney. He brings over a decade of experience as a journalist. He had previously written for WorldNetDaily, but moved over to Infowars earlier this year to lead their new Washington, D.C. bureau. “I have to have a birth certificate. Of course, Barack Obama doesn’t,” Corsi said jokingly about the vetting process that he endured before being approved as a White… Keep Reading

Donald Trump: Uh Oh, My Son-in-Law Jared Kushner Might Be Incompetent!

One of President Donald Trump’s most influential and powerful advisors is a member of his own family. His son-in-law, Jared Kushner was put at the helm of the new White House Office of American Innovation, and designated to work on criminal justice reform and other crucial tasks, but now Trump has apparently discovered a shocking secret about his daughter’s husband: He’s completely incompetent! “[President Trump’s] own mood, according to two advisers who spoke on the condition of anonymity, has become sour and dark, and he has turned against most of his aides — even his son-in-law, Jared Kushner — describing them in a fury as “incompetent,” according to one of those advisers,” a New York Times report claims. As The White House Turns: Comey Is History, McMaster Is Reportedly On The Outs

It’s never a dull moment in the Trump White House. As rival factions within the administration continue to butt heads, the casualties are beginning to mount. Embattled FBI Director James Comey was officially relieved of his duties today, and if tensions continue to mount, national security advisor H.R. McMaster may be the next to get the axe. “While I appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation,” Trump wrote in a public letter addressed to Comey informing him that he was terminated. “I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the Bureau.” Trump’s decision was accompanied by a public statement from Attorney General Jeff Sessions laying out the groundwork for Comey’s immediate dismissal. If reports can be believed, McMaster’s days may be numbered within the Trump administration. A Bloomberg report indicates that although Washington D.C. loves McMaster, Trump is quickly souring on the man. Keep Reading

REPORT: Steve Bannon Didn’t Oppose Syria Strike; Maintains Distance From Right-Wing Media

White House chief strategist Steve Bannon has been called a right-wing firebrand, a tea party favorite, and even a white nationalist for his role in creating the Trump presidency. However, Bannon’s true nature is shaping up to be much different than the hype if recent reports are to be believed. In a New York Magazine article, journalist Olivia Nuzzi gave a glimpse to a different side of Bannon than what is usually portrayed by the media. She portrays Bannon as a man who has expended very little of his political capital to get nationalist allies into key White House positions, and has grown distant to the right-wing media outlets seeking his guidance. “He has a lot of friends out on the internet who love him, but we are all still waiting for him to unleash the beast,” said Charles Johnson, editor-in-chief of GotNews.com. Another source close to the President has even disputed reports that Bannon pushed back against the controversial and unauthorized strikes in Syria against Bashir al-Assad. “He… Keep Reading

Cruz Defends Freedom Caucus, Attacks Liberal Elements In White House

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has condemned progressive figures within the White House who have been agitating against the fiscally conservative Freedom Caucus. In a Tuesday panel covered by the Texas Tribune, Cruz defended the Freedom Caucus, stating, “I will say those voices in the White House that are trying to get the White House to unload on conservatives, to unload on the Freedom Caucus, are doing the bidding of the left, of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, and profoundly damaging our prospects of success.” When a reporter asked him to elaborate on who specifically he was referring to, Cruz said, “whoever is encouraging the White House to go after conservative members who are working hard to save this legislation and make sure it actually lowers health insurance premiums.” Keep Reading

Trump Vows To Expedite FDA Approvals

President Trump met Tuesday with the heads of several pharmaceutical companies at the White House. During the Oval Office meeting, Trump discussed bringing more pharmaceutical jobs back to the U.S. and making drugs more affordable. He urged the drug companies, which included Johnson and Johnson, to bring more jobs back to America, saying, “So you have to get your companies back here. We have to make products…” “We have no choice,” he added in typical Trumpian fashion. He called on the execs to lower drug prices, which are exorbitant, saying, “We have to get prices way down.” Trump’s first point was similar to what was discussed in his CEO meeting last week. President Meets With CEOs. Here’s The Problem…

“They’re going to have to pay a border tax — a substantial border tax,” President Trump pledged Monday morning during a White House meeting with twelve CEOs including the heads of Dow Chemical, Proctor and Gamble, and Ford. He went on to thinly veil threats against the businessmen, saying, “All you have to do is stay. Don’t leave. Don’t fire your people in the United States.” The President also discussed a 75% regulation cut and tax cuts for both the middle class and for corporations and a ‘big border tax.’ This is troubling for several salient reasons. Primarily, the public image of President Trump holding White House meetings with businessmen just doesn’t wash. This meeting, at least, was open to the media, however, previous meetings with high-level executives have not been. What was discussed during these back-room meetings? We don’t know. Did the president offer incentives or threats? We don’t know. Keep Reading

The Authors Of Prosperity

Amid a torrent of rumors surrounding the allegedly chaotic Trump transition, there have been some glimmers of hope emerging from the fledgling ascendance of the Manhattanite billionaire to the halls of power in Washington, DC. Vice President-elect, Mike Pence, has taken the reins of the transition process and his first order of business was to fire all lobbyists from the team, a promising sign that Trump plans to make good on his campaign pledge to “drain the swamp.” Coming on the heels of this welcome news is the report that the president-elect will order a ban on all lobbying activities for outgoing administration officials. And yet more happy news: James Clapper, head of the NSA, serial liar, and establishmentarian to boot, has resigned. The swamp is draining itself. As hopeful as all this appears, these optimistic developments are tempered by headlines pronouncing an energetic pessimism by those who refuse to find a silver lining in the outcome of our recent electoral contests. About a White House Built By Slaves

“I wake up every morning in a house built by slaves,” Michelle Obama declared at the 2016 Democratic National Convention. The ensuing uproar neatly comprised of censure from the right and adulation from the left, thus demonstrating the deep ideological divide that defines our present politics. Though the speech on Tuesday received the most media attention, it does not represent the first instance in which Obama cited the White House’s slave legacy. The line made an appearance in her commencement address at New York’s City College in June, and her husband also made note of the same in March 2015 at the fiftieth anniversary of the Bloody Sunday march in Selma, Alabama. In keeping with leftist orthodoxy, Obama imagines American history as a series of transgressions against the dignity and lives of helpless peoples, and reduces the White House to a mere artifact of that ugly past. Not surprisingly, bastions of the left such as The New York Times and Huffington Post lauded the First Lady for using the… Keep Reading
