United Nations Appoints Islamic Dictatorship To Women’s Rights Commission

The United Nations (UN) is showing their commitment to the ongoing struggle for women’s rights throughout the world by including an Islamic dictatorship on their Commission on the Status of Women. They recently announced that Saudi Arabia would be added to the body. The UN had previously made the Saudi Arabian ambassador, Faisal bin Hassan Trad the head of a key human rights panel a couple years back. This outraged watchdog groups, but the UN was oblivious to those concerns and apparently considers Saudi Arabia to be a crucial vanguard for human rights for their organization. Saudi Arabia is an undemocratic Wahabbist kingdom whose leaders believe in a strict interpretation of the Koran. “Electing Saudi Arabia to protect women’s rights is like making an arsonist into the town fire chief,” said Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch, in a public statement. “It’s absurd.” According to a Human Rights Watch report released in late 2015, women are not permitted on the streets of Saudi Arabia unless they are accompanied… Keep Reading

The Trump Doctrine Takes Shape

The concept of Presidential Doctrine dates back to when James Monroe adopted a posture of anti-European colonialism in the western hemisphere. Since that time many presidents have come and gone without leaving a signature stamp on the attitude and behavior of our nation vis a vis foreign policy though many have at most sought to merely modify pre-existing positions. Theodore Roosevelt took Monroe’s doctrine and mutated it into the Roosevelt Corollary which would later be reversed by his fifth cousin, Franklin Roosevelt who adopted a Good Neighbor policy toward those nations in the Central and South America. In relatively short time, the neocon wing of the Republican Party hijacked our government and set about reinvigorating the interventionist ambitions of Teddy Roosevelt’s Big Stick Diplomacy. Under Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush, America ceased speaking softly and carrying a big stick; it raised its voice and started actively using the stick in places like Grenada and Panama and various other Latin countries that failed to fall in line with… Keep Reading

Tear Down The UN And Build The Wall

Last Wednesday, it was announced that, by way of executive fiat, the United States would begin scaling back its financial support of the United Nations (UN). It was the same day our new President signed an order which jump-starts the construction of his long promised wall along the US-Mexico border. At face value it would seem these two imperatives bare no similarity except for the expanded exertion of executive hegemony over our national governance. There’s more to this picture than meets the eye. For too long the United States has sacrificed its sovereignty on the altar of globalism, all at the behest of an international body dominated by tyrannical violators of the most basic tenets of common decency. Compounding the insult of this cowardly cow-towing to the will of wicked world rulers is our leaders’ craven offering up of hard earned tax dollars to fund the UN’s impotent initiatives. The science behind climate change is far from settled and the Paris Agreement accomplishes nothing, yet our money continues to… Keep Reading

Today In History: United Nations

October 24, 1945 – The United Nations is founded in San Francisco as a very well-intentioned check against the excesses of failed states and colonial imperialism. The Weimar Republic, left to its own devices, had swept Hitler’s Nazi Party into power with a mere quarter of the popular vote. The fanatical regime of Premier Tojo bowled over the moderates in Japan, bringing the military to power with its intent to enslave the surrounding region in the name of the Empire. This recipe left the world ripe for the inevitable collapse into total war. The United Nations, we are told, must exist as a counterbalance against radicalism if we are to avoid repeating the horrors of the world wars or the threat of nuclear annihilation. Fast forward several decades to a time when world war seems unthinkable and the threat of nuclear exchange has become a relic of the Cold War. Right-wing and libertarian parties around the world are still reeling from the United Nations’ latest, if unsurprising, development. While… Keep Reading
