The Tragic Shooting Of Steve Scalise Must Usher In a New Era Of Political Discourse

You can’t reason with a postmodernist who believes logic doesn’t exist. You can try outwitting them in a war of words and hope a rational audience will be swayed by your superior intellect, or you can ignore them and appeal to the good nature of your fellow man by improving your own life in the hopes that others will emulate your example. You can be a better person tomorrow than you were today, and improve the world by bettering yourself through your deeds. The recent shooting of House Majority Whip Steven Scalise proves how desperately this change is needed. What sense does it make to continue the battle of ideas with the Left? Politically, they’ve been defeated for the time being. Culturally, they’re bankrupt with the violence of their deeds and the depravity of their words demonstrating it daily. They’re a pathetic lot–trampled under foot by the power of the ballot box–who are spiraling toward an ignoble demise brought about by their own self-destructive behaviors and rhetoric. Keep Reading

Impeachment: A Cynical Bet Against America

Impeachment of Trump is still a possibility. Representative Brad Sherman, a California Democrat, has drafted articles of impeachment, and he isn’t alone in that effort. There’s growing support within the shrinking opposition party for the ouster of President Trump by hook or by crook or by both. Whatever works is fine with the Democrats, but nothing has worked so far. Everyone on the left side of our political spectrum needs to prepare themselves for more disappointment. So far, they’ve been wrong about… Well, everything. Donald Trump would never get the nomination. He would never beat Hillary. The GOP was about to be destroyed for good and replaced with a utopia of uninhibited one-party rule. The exact opposite has happened in every case, and the left has been demonstrating an epic degree of sore-loser-syndrome ever since. This is the stuff of legend, but not the good kind, it’s more akin to the Hindenberg or the Titanic. Keep Reading

Hypocrisy At The Heart Of The Left

There exists no dearth of outrage on the Left toward the perceived hypocrisy of President Donald Trump and the Republican Party at large. Mr. Trump, they remind us, was elected due to a number of campaign promises, not least of them was the pledge to “drain the swamp”, a not-so-thinly-veiled allusion to the pervasive influence of lobbyists and career politicians infesting the halls of power in Washington, D.C. Mr. Trump’s cabinet nominees, particularly Steve Mnuchin and Betsy DeVos, are stark examples in the minds of leftists that our president has broken his word. The Left is correct, from time to time, when they call out the hypocrisy of the Right. We cannot on one hand claim to be for limited government and then on the other demand Big Brother interfere in a woman’s right to choose to exterminate her young. We cannot claim to be for free markets while also bending to the will of big business lobbies that demand unfair tax breaks and access to our regulatory apparatus… Keep Reading
