Citing Iran Fears, Israel Quietly Lobbied Against Syrian Ceasefire Agreement

Hailed as an early diplomatic achievement for President Trump, he announced a ceasefire in Syria with Russian President Vladimir Putin last month. This is likely to stop ISIS and other Islamic radicals from overthrowing Syrian President Bashir al-Assad. However, the state of Israel lobbied against the agreement, fearing that it would embolden their Iranian enemies. According to a Haaretz report, Israel, the United States and Russia were involved in secret deliberations before the ceasefire was finalized last month. During those deliberations, Israel lobbied aggressively against the agreement citing that it would strengthen the Iranian regime. Israel’s primary foreign policy goal is to weaken their Iranian enemies, even if it means empowering ISIS and other extremists in the region. Trump and Putin considered the advice from the Israelis, but ultimately chose to move forward with the ceasefire agreement anyway. “Israel is aware of Iran’s expansionist goals in Syria,” a statement released by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said. Netanyahu publicly expressed his dismay with the agreement on July 16. Keep Reading

Trump’s Foreign Policy Is Jeopardized After Senate Approves Sanctions Against Russia

Congress is seemingly intent on doing just about anything in their power to stop President Trump from making America great again. Weeks after a diplomatic summit between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin led to a ceasefire in Syria, Congress has jeopardized the progress by passing a sanctions regime leaving Russia furious! “This is already having an extremely negative impact on the process of normalizing our relations,” Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said. Ryabkov went onto say that the economic sanctions would put the already tenuous relationship between the U.S. and Russia into “uncharted territory in a political and diplomatic sense” and promised swift retaliation. After sanctions were approved this week by a 419-3 vote in the House, the Senate quickly followed suit. The entire chamber voted to approve the sanctions on Russia earlier today by a 98-2 vote. The two lone “no” votes came from Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rand Paul (R-KY). The veto-proof supermajority behind these bills all but insures that they will become the… Keep Reading

The “Free Syrian Army” Whines After President Trump Cuts Off Their Federal Aid

It is no secret that Syrian terrorists were, more or less, on the federal payroll during the Obama administration. Former President Obama, with support from partisan Democrats and neoconservatives, followed the policy of encouraging terrorists to overthrow Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. This would have created a situation analogous to what occurred in Libya or Iraq after American foreign interventions rocked those countries. But the so-called “Free Syrian Army” got a rude awakening this week that there is a new sheriff in town after news broke that Trump ended a CIA program designed to help them overthrow the Assad government. “Certainly this decision will have results and consequences on the Syrian scene, particularly in the north and the south. The halt of support to the FSA by the international community is a factor in escalation of Assad’s strength and the strength of the extremist groups,” the FSA commander said. Keep Reading

Liberal Media Shrieks In Horror As Trump Cuts Off ISIS’ Aid In Syria

The liberal media is once again crying foul after President Donald Trump terminated a CIA program to help Syrian President Bashir al-Assad’s opposition in Syria. The media cares more about the fact that Russian President Vladmir Putin supported this move than the fact that terrorists such as ISIS and the Al Nusra–jihadis literally at war with the United States–were directly aided by this CIA program. Trump met with National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster and CIA Director Mike Pompeo before ultimately making the decision to cut off the program that began in 2013 under his predecessor. This follows news of a Russian-U.S. ceasefire in Syria that was agreed upon after Putin and Trump met during the G20 Summit in Germany earlier this month. Under another President (particularly a Democrat), the liberal media would be gushing over the diplomatic brilliance of these moves. But in the age of widespread Trump derangement syndrome, liberal media personalities are actually mourning ISIS and using Trump’s move as more ‘evidence’ for fevered conspiracy theories about… Keep Reading

The Donald Trump Jr. “Scandal” Highlights The Imminent Decline Of The Mainstream Media

I haven’t wanted to write about the whole Donald Trump Jr. thing because the story is utter crap, but here I find myself writing about a crap story with nothing underpinning it but crap piled upon layer after layer of crap. The Democratic partisans, enraged liberals, and their lapdogs in the mainstream media have been salivating over this particular fake news story, which says more about them than it does about Trump Jr. and his father’s administration. Here’s something worth noting that won’t get brought up by MSNBC or CNN or the New York Times: Famed liberal stalwart Alan Dershowitz even says that the Trump Jr. story is crap. You may now be asking yourself, “Okay, it might be crap, but how is it fake news? Even Trump Jr. admitted to his own culpability by releasing his e-mails, doesn’t that mean it’s a true story?” Sure, I don’t dispute that a meeting occurred between Trump Jr. and some sleazy Russian lawyer and her sleazy Russian compatriots. It’s not fake… Keep Reading

Presidents Trump & Putin Discuss Syria: Seeking Common Ground, Cooperation

President Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin via phone today about potential solutions to the ongoing Syrian Civil War. The world leaders agreed that the time has come for the destructive and brutal conflict to come to a peaceful conclusion. In the official White House readout of the phone call, the conversation was described as a “very good one, and included the discussion of safe, or de-escalation, zones to achieve lasting peace for humanitarian and many other reasons.” Ongoing cooperation between Russia and the United States with regards to the conflict would represent a break from traditional U.S foreign policy. As a candidate Trump shocked the Republican Party’s foreign policy establishment by resolving to work with Putin on the situation, even referring to anti-Russia hawks as “stupid people.” President Trump resolved to send an official U.S Representative to peace talks between the Syrian government and rebels in Kazakhstan occurring May 3-4. The Russian Game Vs. Trump

The idea that we must include Russia in any redrawing of national boundaries derives from two dubious assumptions, in my opinion. First, it smacks of a “great powers” approach to global management, which reached its zenith just after the Second World War (UN Security Council and Bretton Woods), and which since then has been shown to be a poor mechanism for global peace and security. Seldom has the UN Security Council cooperated effectively to prevent or to end a war in some part of the world; and when it does, such as when they condemned Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait prior to Desert Storm, it is because of the diplomatic leadership of the world’s superpower. Take USA leadership out of the equation and the UN Security Council is a paper tiger. Still, the dream persists that global management, such as the action of redrawing national boundaries, somehow will work better – not because the USA maintains its leadership position on such matters, but because the “Big Five” sign off on… Keep Reading

No Wonder Ted Cruz Hates DC – He’s a Marvel Fan (VIDEO)

Last week I had the chance to interview Senator Ted Cruz backstage after his “Believe Again” event at Drake University in Des Moines. Considering Cruz’s reputation as an avid gamer, I decided to spice things up by challenging him to a chess match during the interview – doing my best to keep the former Princeton debate champ in check, while also hitting him with questions ranging from campaign strategy to comic book wars. It turns out that when he’s not haunting the nightmares of Capitol Hill Democrats, the conservative firebrand enjoys swimming, science fiction, and the irreverent political satire of “Team America: World Police”. Cruz directed harsh criticism at Russian President Vladmir Putin and blamed moderate Republican nominees for the last two presidential losses, pledging to win crossover votes by avoiding the “mushy middle” and reassembling the Reagan coalition. Cruz struck a lighter tone when asked how he planned to rope millennials into his campaign. While he cited his libertarian streak as a draw to younger voters, he also said… Keep Reading

Is Russia The Real Enemy Of The American People?

Why the demonization of Putin by Glenn Beck and other western media?  First off, let me just say that I enjoy watching many programs on the Blaze, but on Russia, Glenn is listening to the wrong people.   Glenn Beck has recently put out a one sided three part series ominously called, “The Red Storm” which caricatures Russia as an end times force of the “anti-christ” focused on destroying the west.  While the background history on the split between the Orthodox east and Catholic west was well done, the modern analysis falls apart and is easily refuted with just a cursory review of online sources.  Thank God for the internet and the ability to sift through the spin.  So why are western media  trying to turn Russia into the next Bogeyman? Recall that the vassal western media portrayed everything the buffoon Boris Yeltsin did as a move away from communism and towards democracy, but everything Putin has done is “bad and sinister”.  Glenn follows in this vein with his series and seems… Keep Reading

The Ukrainian Crisis: Rebels With a Cause

In Defense of Self-Determination The toppling of the government of Ukraine caused a wide-array of reactions in the United States.  Like most Americans, my first reaction was that of elation when pro-European Union forces overthrew what seemed like an Eastern European dictatorship.  But, that doesn’t tell the whole story of the initial coup d’état in Ukraine. Western Ukraine is wholly different from the East.  It has longed for European contact for the last century.  The West has a built in dislike of Russia.  During Joseph Stalin’s reign in the Soviet Union the Ukraine became the target of Holodomor.  Holodomor was the purposeful starvation of the Ukraine’s populace (Then known as the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic). Naturally, many Ukrainians took umbrage at their targeted famine due to the actions of the Soviet government.  This led many Ukrainians to welcome German soldiers as liberators during World War Two.  In fact, a part of Hitler’s elite private army called the Waffen SS (Schutzstaffel) was made up of Ukrainians (SS Galicia).  Eastern Ukrainians,… Keep Reading
