The Right To Kill Your Equal

We all enter the world through a woman and (spoiler alert) everyone dies. Regardless of how you exit this world (natural causes or freak accident), no human being is immortal. We’re all here today and gone tomorrow. Aside from various man-created hierarchies, are there any universal categories to determine who’s greatest among us? Is someone’s significance based on: • What family they’re from? • Their level of attractiveness? • What their occupation is? • How financially stable they are? All these categories are based on one person’s opinion over another’s. Humans are notorious for judging one another based on this set of criteria. Keep Reading

The Pro-Choice Terminology Deception

“My body, my choice! My body, my choice!” The popular slogan chanted by pro-choice supporters during pro-life gatherings is a defiant declaration to all anti-abortion advocates and lawmakers, a woman’s uterus is off limits to any and all government regulations. It’s a statement which – supposedly – represents freedom for all women to decide the fate of an unborn child. Yet, upon a closer review, when you compare the phrase with how abortion supporters actually apply it, the freedom to choose is not what the phrase represents. If abortion supporters were really about choice, they certainly wouldn’t be offended by those who believe that every child deserves a chance at life. In fact, the pro-life movement is not only about freedom but also equality.  However, the pro-choice stance is a push to retain a woman’s legal right to relinquish themselves of any parental responsibilities. Equality is not part of the equation. It’s about supremacy. When a woman chooses abortion, she takes away another human being’s right to life.  Therefore, how is it possible that the… Keep Reading

Total War: Fight Fire With Fire

The political left wins because it follows the tactic of total and continual war. It does not walk away from any election with the idea that combat can wait until the next election cycle. More importantly, they often make their biggest gains when out of power, precisely because they position themselves as “aggrieved” and “offended” and do not need to compromise to try to pass legislation. “Fake News” is just another one of their tactics. We are all talking about it now because the Left is very capable in defining the topics of the time, as a result of their near total control of academia, journalism and the media. Trump is also a master of defining the topics about which we discuss, but the question remains to what extent he will do so in a way that benefits conservatism generally.  Hopefully, with the addition of Breitbart’s media genius Stephen Bannon in his administration, he will be able to fight fire with fire. Trump’s HHS Pick: Obamacare Critic Tom Price

On Tuesday morning, Tea Party conservative Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) was officially chosen as Secretary of Health and Human Services for the administration of President-elect Donald J. Trump. Trump announced, “Chairman Price, a renowned physician, has earned a reputation for being a tireless problem solver and the go-to expert on healthcare policy, making him the ideal choice to serve in this capacity.” This pick reflects Trump’s plan to repeal and replace Obamacare, as Price has been a vocal critic of the Affordable Care Act and the Obama administration generally. On Obamacare, Price said, “While President Obama and Democrats have the audacity to tout Obamacare’s ‘success,’ the cold hard facts and figures prove the opposite is true.” In The House of Representatives, Price sponsored the Empowering Patients First Act, a potential replacement for Obamacare. The EPFA creates and expands tax credits for purchasing health insurance and permits interstate health insurance markets. This pick may quell some of the Republican concerns that Trump will not make repealing and replacing Obamacare a… Keep Reading

Does The Pro-Life Movement Have a Future?

From the moment Roe v. Wade came down from the gavel of the nine gods to the lives of our unworthy peasantry, social conservatives and the religious right have been debating tactics to achieve the impossible: Overturning a 7 to 2 Supreme Court decision. It’s a task not many activist movements have been able to pull off. First, the mantra was appointing new justices to overturn it. Lawyers and strategists tried to find a way for Congress and the President to go around it. Amending the Constitution was placed on the table. How was the pro-life movement going to push back against the progressive achievements of the Warren-Burger Court in a world where federal judges serve for life? The pro-life movement, since 1973, has essentially taken a strategy of a little of everything. Ronald Reagan and both Bushes were propelled to the Republican nomination with the full weight of the evangelical political machine. Evangelist superstars like Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell called down fire and brimstone on the left… Keep Reading

Dear Austin Petersen, Personhood Is The Ultimate Liberty Issue

Dear Austin, As a Libertarian Presidential Candidate, I know you’re busy with a lot of interviews and meetings with conservative media and voters looking for a way out of the coming Trump/Hillary nightmare, but I wanted to take the opportunity to reach out to you and try to iron out some of the wrinkles in your pro-life messaging. See, protecting life is an utterly non-negotiable issue for a slew of Libertarians as well as Republicans, and polls show that the nation as a whole is moving in an anti-abortion direction, with the highly-libertarian Millennial generation leading the way. Many of us flatly refuse to support anyone who won’t fight for the right to life, no matter how much we might agree on other things. I think you’re on the right track with the life issue, and that’s incredibly important for the sake of moving the historically pro-choice Libertarian Party (LP) that way. Your stance on this issue could impact the future of the LP well beyond 2016, and to… Keep Reading

Three Really Dumb Abortion Arguments You Should Stop Making

As the series of shocking videos released by the Center for Medical Progress continues to land body blows on Planned Parenthood, fewer and fewer abortion advocates can be found to defend them.  They are even slowly disappearing from the typically safe comments sections of traditionally left-leaning sources like Slate and my state’s resident MSM outlet, the Des Moines Register.  Articles from pro-choice folks condemning the abortion giant seem to have knocked the legs out from some of the most vulnerable arguments lately, like the thinly-veiled falsehood that abortions only comprise 3% of Planned Parenthood’s services, or the notion that being pro-choice isn’t the same as being pro-abortion. Still, a few liberal drones still venture out to the comments section each day to regurgitate equally meaningless drivel, along with a pinch of deflection and a hefty dose of ad hominem. Some of the arguments presented by the left are at least intellectually honest enough to deserve a thoughtful response, but a few are so absurd, ill-informed, and misapplied as to… Keep Reading
