DACA And The Dream Act, Part 2

There are many different sides that need to be looked at in relation to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, and questions that must be answered.  One question that has not been answered is: why are the beneficiaries of DACA called “Dreamers” by the media and progressive socialists pushing it forward? Could it be that the name was given to these illegal immigrants by Obama to tie them to the Dream Act? As mentioned in part one of my series, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) have already declared that there would be another Dream… Keep Reading

The Liberty Conservative Endorses Roy Moore In AL Senate Race

The Liberty Conservative has announced that it is endorsing Judge Roy Moore in the special election for U.S. Senate in Alabama. Moore is set to face establishment stalwart Sen. Luther Strange in Tuesday’s primary runoff. Roy Moore’s record shows that he is a man of principle, and a proven defender of constitutionally limited government and states’ rights. If elected, Moore has pledged to stand up to Mitch McConnell, and to stand with Senate conservatives such as Rand Paul and Mike Lee. By contrast, Strange, a former Washington lobbyist, is being propped up to the tune of $8 million by McConnell-linked… Keep Reading

As Hillary Remains Free, Attorney General Jeff Sessions Focuses On Failed Drug War

When Donald Trump was campaigning for President last year, thousands of Americans chanted “LOCK HER UP!” throughout the country referring to his opponent, Hillary Clinton. Once elected, Trump supporters expected Attorney General Jeff Sessions to follow the campaign’s mandate and proceed to investigate Clinton for her e-mails, Libyan war crimes, and other atrocities she has committed over the years. Instead of fulfilling the Trump mandate, Sessions has gone rogue. He is pursuing his decades-long fetish of marijuana prohibition and working feverishly with the intent of doubling-down on possibly the most destructive policy in modern American history: the federal drug war.… Keep Reading

Rand Paul Backs Trump On Sessions: “He Should Have Been More Supportive Of The President”

During a Thursday interview on Fox & Friends, a TV show popular with President Donald Trump, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) attempted to repair his reportedly fraught relationship with President Donald Trump. Sen. Paul was initially asked by host Brian Kilmeade about his phone conversation with President Trump last night. “We have a good rapport,” Paul replied. “He understands where I am – that I am really probably the most adamant that we should repeal Obamacare.” Asked about remarks made by Trump to the New York Times about Jeff Sessions’ decision to recuse himself from the ongoing Russia investigation, Paul firmly backed… Keep Reading

Attorney General Jeff Sessions To Double Down On Federal Civil Asset Forfeitures

Attorney General Jeff Sessions was a notorious drug warrior while serving in the Senate. Those hoping that President Donald Trump, who actually supported the full legalization of drugs in the past, would reign Sessions in have had their hopes dashed as Sessions announced today that federal civil asset forfeitures will expand during the Trump administration. “[W]e hope to issue this week a new directive on asset forfeiture—especially for drug traffickers,” Sessions said to a National District Attorneys Association conference in Minneapolis Monday. “With care and professionalism, we plan to develop policies to increase forfeitures. No criminal should be allowed to… Keep Reading

Why The Jeff Sessions Hearing Was a Complete Waste Of Time

Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ hearing before the Senate intelligence committee was a complete waste of time. All Sessions did was reiterate the same talking points that the White House has been conjuring up for months. Other than that, much of the hearing was a confirmation of former FBI Director James Comey’s claims last week, and Sessions’s repetitive defense of Trump’s firing of Comey. Generally, there was no new information that pushed forward the Trump-Russia investigation. Perhaps the only information divulged quasi-relevance was Sessions’s confirmation of Comey’s private talk with Trump and his concern about being left alone with the president.… Keep Reading

Rand Paul Hammers Democrats: Senate Russia Hearings Are “All For Show”, “Political Theater”

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) strongly defended the administration and criticized the Senate Intelligence Committee’s ongoing investigation of the Trump’s administration’s ties to Russia during a Monday interview with Jake Tapper on CNN. “I still think that we’ve got a Special Counsel, let them do their job. The rest is all for show. This is political theater. Really, those committees aren’t getting anywhere, if there was really anything done wrong, it’ll come out of the Special Counsel and my suspicion is that very little of anything will come out of there. There may be some people that didn’t file their paperwork… Keep Reading

Libertarian Lawmakers Criticize Trump Administration’s Support Of Mandatory Minimum Policies

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI) are up in arms after Attorney General Jeff Sessions released sentencing guidelines last week indicating his favor of mandatory minimum sentences that were being phased out by the Obama administration. The two libertarian lawmakers have been long-time advocates for criminal justice reform. They feel that the Trump Administration under Sessions is clearly headed in the wrong direction on this particular policy, which will only serve to clog the prisons further while doing little to prevent crime. “Mandatory minimum sentences have unfairly and disproportionately incarcerated too many minorities for too long,” Paul… Keep Reading

Kushner Emerges As Powerful Criminal Justice Reform Advocate In White House

There are a number of incongruent ideologies jockeying for influence within the Trump White House. Trump’s son in law, Jared Kushner has emerged as one of the most powerful early on. Despite receiving a great deal of flak from conservatives and libertarians for his supposedly progressive outlook, there may be an issue where his influence on the White House can be appreciated: criminal justice reform. According to a New York Times report, Kushner is pushing for criminal justice reform on issues such as ending mandatory minimums. However, he is faced with resistance from Attorney General Jeff Sessions, a long-time drug warrior… Keep Reading

The Cannabis Market Is Still Very Much Open For Business Under President Trump

When former Sen. Jeff Sessions was announced as Trump’s pick for Attorney General, many leftists and even some libertarians cried foul. This would be the end of marijuana legalization, they claimed! Others claimed that he was the big bad racist boogeyman who loved the Klan. The histrionics were almost unbearable. Nevertheless, their whining and their crying did woefully little to stop the confirmation of Sessions. After he was confirmed, news reports have circulated indicating that the Attorney General under Trump will be focused on taking out serious drug cartels while leaving the recreational marijuana industry relatively unscathed. The U.S. News… Keep Reading

Hypocrisy At The Heart Of The Left

There exists no dearth of outrage on the Left toward the perceived hypocrisy of President Donald Trump and the Republican Party at large. Mr. Trump, they remind us, was elected due to a number of campaign promises, not least of them was the pledge to “drain the swamp”, a not-so-thinly-veiled allusion to the pervasive influence of lobbyists and career politicians infesting the halls of power in Washington, D.C. Mr. Trump’s cabinet nominees, particularly Steve Mnuchin and Betsy DeVos, are stark examples in the minds of leftists that our president has broken his word. The Left is correct, from time to… Keep Reading

The Senate Should Confirm Jeff Sessions

“The ultimate responsibility of the Attorney General and the Department of Justice is to execute the laws passed by this Congress and to follow the Constitution in that process.” Those are the words of Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions as he testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on January 11th. Sessions was nominated by President Trump to become the nation’s next Attorney General. Last week, after numerous stall tactics by Senate Democrats, Sessions’ nomination advanced out of the Judiciary Committee by a party-line vote. His nomination now goes to a vote by the full Senate, which is scheduled for later this… Keep Reading

Relax, Hippies: Jeff Sessions As Attorney General Isn’t The End Of The World

The hypocritical liberals are sounding the alarms about Jeff Sessions being President Trump’s pick for Attorney General. Suddenly and conveniently, they care about civil liberties and the rule of law again now that they have lost political power. Nevertheless, they are blowing smoke and relying on ignorance to push their tired agenda. The George Soros-funded Drug Policy Alliance (DPA) is especially ham-fisted in their nauseating “analysis” of the appointment. Purportedly a nonpartisan group, their true colors were shown after they released a ridiculous screed filled with so much nonsense that looks as if it was drafted by John Podesta himself: Keep Reading
