Conservative Turf War: Chambers Vs. Rand

There’s an old saying that has a kernel of truth to it: “That it takes a maniac to defeat a maniac.” There are exceptions to this rule as in the case of the calm and empirical Joseph Welch destroying the fanatical Joseph McCarthy with one phrase (“Have you no sense of decency?”).  But more often than not, fanatics are outmanned by their counterparts. An example is how then-Congressman Richard Nixon, already malformed with self-pity and paranoia, sensed early and correctly that the New Deal darling, Alger Hiss was a sociopathic liar who against all accumulating and damaging evidence denied his… Keep Reading

Sen. Mike Lee: Judge Roy Moore’s ‘Tested Reputation Of Integrity’ Sorely Needed In Washington D.C.

When Judge Roy Moore defeated his establishment-backed opponent, Luther Strange in a GOP Senate primary last month in Alabama, conservatives were jumping for joy. Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) is particularly ecstatic about having another ally slated to join him in Washington D.C., and recently extended his official endorsement. “If there was ever a time to ensure that Republicans maintain a seat in the United States Senate, it is now,” Lee said. “That is why I am proudly endorsing Judge Roy Moore for United States Senate. Alabamians have the chance to send a proven, conservative fighter to the United States Senate… Keep Reading

Steve Bannon: The New Kingmaker Of The Right-Wing?

When Steve Bannon was in the White House, President Donald Trump made it abundantly clear that he was the real strategist and his chief strategist, Bannon, was only secondary. “I like Steve, but you have to remember he was not involved in my campaign until very late… I’m my own strategist and it wasn’t like I was going to change strategies because I was facing crooked Hillary,” Trump said in an interview earlier this year. However, Bannon’s maneuvers since leaving the White House and returning to his post as Executive Director of Breitbart News show that he may have been… Keep Reading

How To Make Conservatism More Attractive To Minorities

As a Latino in the conservative movement, I can honestly say that conservatives have not hit the right notes with minorities. This is mostly because leftists and Democrats have a way of conflating right-wing ideas with immoral acts such as murder and racism, thus scaring minorities into leaning liberal. Even though it should be easy for conservatives to refute such notions, it tends to come off as pretentious and even bigoted to everyone else. In order to actually get minorities to switch to conservatism, we must choose our words carefully on certain issues, and take advantage of their genuine concerns… Keep Reading

On Libertarian Arrogance

Recently, I was privy to an exchange on social media that highlighted the intellectual and moral arrogance observed in many libertarians. Certain members of the Liberty Movement seem to be so sure of their superiority that they miss the authoritarian allure of a Donald Trump or Bernie Sanders. Turning a blind eye (or turning up our noses) at those we disagree with will not help advance the ideas about individual rights, the rule of law, benefits of markets, or any of the other foundations upon which so many of us base our worldviews if not our careers. Rather than dismiss… Keep Reading

The Biggest Winners And Sorriest Losers In The Liberty Movement For 2016

It is the best of times, and it is the worst of times for the liberty movement. The political system is in utter chaos, and a vast realignment is taking place. Some liberty activists are finding themselves in good graces because of this realignment, while others are down in the dumps. We are going to examine the biggest winners within the liberty movement due to this year’s the political realignment, and what they did correctly to shine so brightly. Conversely, we will look at the people who blew it big time in 2016 and let destiny slip through their fingertips. Keep Reading

The Corruption Of a Local GOP

In the 2013 mayoral election for the city of Syracuse, there was no Republican candidate to run against incumbent Democrat, Stephanie Miner.  To give the people of Syracuse a choice, Ian Hunter, a local conservative, and a small group of activists wore out their walking shoes going door to door to collect enough signatures to get his name on the ballot.  The requirement was 569 signatures.  The group was able to collect 680 thereby securing his nomination.   After their customary review, the Board of Elections ruled that they’d only collected 572 “valid” signatures.  According to people knowledgeable of the… Keep Reading

The Right Furthers The Left’s Cause

What happens when you push a group of people so far for so long? What happens when you mock and marginalize their values for decades? What happens when you threaten their livelihoods and the success of their families? What happens when their voices go unheard, unacknowledged and unwanted? For decades now, the racially-motivated, culturally intolerant, religiously bigoted, economically destructive Left has increasingly divided Americans, exacerbating ruptures, exposing fault lines on every issue of significance, down to the foundations of the Republic, in a never-ending quest to redefine society, fundamentally transform American identity, and attain and hold power over every individual. In… Keep Reading

Conservatism Resurgent: The World Turns Right

Across the globe, in elections in the United Kingdom, Israel, America, India, France, South Korea among others, the people have begun to rise up against the forces of authoritarianism, the forces of hatred and the forces of division, turning their backs on the leftist, secular, divisive ideology and the parties and the corrupt politicians – Socialists, Progressives, Liberals and Democrats – who represent it. Increasingly voters are turning right, returning to conservatism that harbors values and ideas that form the foundations of morality, ethics, liberty and freedom. In America, the Republican party benefited from the rise of the Tea Party – a grassroots response… Keep Reading
