Barack Obama

Back To Reality

in Politics by

While campaigning, two of President Trump’s promises were to overturn the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and bomb the living hell out of ISIS. Promises made based on failed healthcare policies and the Obama Administration’s sad efforts toward ridding the world of Islamic terrorists. Trump also vowed to overturn many policies and programs former President Barack Obama instituted during his eight-year reign. Recently, Trump crossed off another one from his long list, overturning the short-lived specialized guidelines for the transgender community. With all the changes taking place, it seems like a modern-day remake of “Back to the Future”. Not the first movie, the second installment of the trilogy. If you haven’t seen it, the main characters, Marty and Doc, travel 30 years into the future to help Marty’s future son from making a poor life-altering decision. While occupied, their nemesis Biff steals the time traveling DeLorean, takes it back to 1955, meets up with his younger self and alters the future with – as you can likely guess – disastrous…

Mr. Trump, Don’t Let Obama And Clinton Off

in Politics by

After the contentious and bruising 2000 election and it’s aftermath, President Bush refused to go after President Clinton for his misdeeds while president. From Chinagate to Travelgate to using the IRS to target their political opponents, the Clinton crime family needed to be investigated more fully. Our next president must go after the corruption and misconduct of the Obama administration in order not to repeat the mistakes of the past. Last week, President-elect Donald J. Trump revealed that he would not pursue legal action against his former opponent Hillary Clinton for her private email server scandal and the Clinton Foundation scandal. Trump promised, in the presidential debates, to appoint a special prosecutor to look into Clinton’s misconduct were he elected President. On Tuesday, in an interview with the New York Times, President-elect Trump responded to a question about what he would do about investigating Hillary Clinton by saying,”It’s just not something I feel very strongly about.” He added, “I don’t want to hurt the Clintons, I really don’t…She went through…

Congress Should Be Ashamed Of Itself

in Politics by

Most Americans who have taken a civics course are aware that the Constitution, in Article 1 Section 8, grants the legislative branch the authority to declare war. However, it appears that our country’s lawmakers have either forgotten this or are instead choosing to pass the buck on to President Obama to avoid their Constitutional obligation to declare war on ISIL. Last Thursday’s vote in the House of Representatives on a bipartisan amendment offered to the 2017 Defense Appropriations Bill is yet another example of this dereliction of duty by Congress. House Armed Services Committee member Congressman Walter Jones (R-NC) and Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA) authored an amendment to the appropriations bill that will cut off funding for the war against ISIL unless the Congress passes a new Authorization to Use Military Force (AUMF) by April 30, 2017. At the heart of the issue is the question of whether or not the AUMF passed in 2001 gives President Obama the authority to fight a war against ISIL in 2016. While…

Muskets, Militia And The Second Amendment

in Politics by

“We need to do this every day of the week and just really brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way.” – Eric Holder, former U.S. Attorney General   There has been a Gun-Free Zone shooting every day of President Barack Obama’s second term. It has become yet another hallmark of Omerica. And now he’s calling for national “gun safety laws” to stop “gun violence” in America. Many Politicians and pundits point to “assault rifles” and “high-capacity magazines” and insist they don’t belong in a civilized society. Back in the 1970s, they said the same thing about “Saturday Night Specials” in New York City. Gun control zealots will target firearms whether they carry 30 rounds or 5 bullets in a snub-nose revolver. And they’ll come up with scary names. Then they trot out the nonsense statistics and scenarios. “You have a greater chance of having a gun taken and used against you than if you don’t have a gun.” Really? Well, what chance do we have to…
