Michael Chabon Chastises Jews Who Support Trump

An enviable quote from Ernest Hemingway was that writers must put their ideology and positions on hold when sitting down at the typewriter. Otherwise, one was violating the craft. Hemingway was referring to a specific genre of writing; that of fiction. But balanced against this was George Orwell, who, with two exceptions, Animal Farm and Nineteen Eighty-Four, was more an essayist than a novelist. For him, the starting point of any non-fiction piece derived from a sense of outrage: “When I sit down to write…I do not say to myself, ‘I’m going to produce a work of art.’ I write… Keep Reading

Reporter Gets Demoted For Accurately Depicting Anti-Semitism At LGBTQ March

Political correctness is so rampant and inconsistent that its issues frequently clash, and progressive groups are forced to choose between which issue to champion and which one to betray. For members who do not agree with their group’s prioritizing one cause over another and choose defend the cause their comrades have left in the dust instead, the result is often expulsion. A case in point concerns a journalist whose expose of Jewish women being kicked out of a LGBTQ march in Chicago last month resulted in disciplinary action from her employer. For her accurate work, she was removed from the… Keep Reading

In November, Bannon was selected to fill the role of White House chief strategist and senior counselor to Trump. Bannon previously served as a Naval officer, investment banker for Goldman Sachs, and movie producer before becoming head of Breitbart News, a self-declared ‘platform for the alt-right’, in 2012. Under Bannon’s leadership, Breitbart has actively promoted Trump and published several allegedly… Keep Reading

Alt-Left: “Racism,” “Supremacy,” And “Extremism”

Not long ago, National Review writer Jonah Goldberg discussed the “alt-right” with Hugh Hewitt on the latter’s talk radio show.  They agreed that, at bottom, the movement upon which Hillary Clinton bestowed national recognition last month was “racist” and “supremacist.”  As such, it deserved to be purged from the GOP and the conservative movement. The notion that there is an alt-right is highly suspect, for there can be an alt-right only if there is a right.  But, contrary to what Democrats and Republicans alike would have us think, there is no genuine right in contemporary American politics.  So, there is… Keep Reading
