FBI’s Trump-Russia Investigations Begin As Democrats Back Away From Allegations

FBI Director James Comey announced Monday that the agency will be pursuing an investigation regarding Russian influence on the last year’s Presidential election, including any possible collusion between the Kremlin and Donald Trump. This comes after reports that Democrats are backing away from their Russia claims. “I’ve been authorized by the Department of Justice to confirm that the FBI, as part of our counterintelligence mission, is investigating the Russian government’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election,” FBI Director James Comey said to the House Intelligence Committee. “That includes investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with… Keep Reading

Words Matter! (Human Lives Don’t)

It’s essentially become universally accepted that the political arena as of late has been steadily undergoing a transformation from a place of discussion and debate to one of battle. Throughout the duration of the past election season, the media never hesitated to remind viewers of just how divided the nation had become regarding the selection of the country’s new president. Inevitably, commentary of this sort would be accompanied by clips of each candidates’ inflammatory rhetoric, whether it was Donald Trump railing against illegal immigrants or Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders crusading against the evil corporations. And though there was occasional discussion about actual incidences… Keep Reading

The Liberty Conservative Endorses Donald Trump For President Of The United States

Tomorrow, Americans will decide who will serve as the next President of the United States. The Liberty Conservative is proud to give its endorsement to the Republican nominee, Donald Trump. Firstly, Donald Trump is far from perfect. He was not the first choice for most of us – although, to be clear, neither was he our last choice. Yet, Trump did something incredible. He demonstrated that the Republican establishment, which has chosen the last six Republican presidential nominees, can be beaten by an anti-establishment outsider who manages to capture the spirit of the people. On economic policy, Trump has demonstrated… Keep Reading

Election Debates? Why Bother.

Another presidential debate? Honestly, at this point, why bother? Don’t get me wrong, I’m as political as they come. I eat it up as much as the next politico, hang on every word, read between the lines, and debate the finer points with my fellow nerds for weeks. I have no lack of interest in watching two mediocre communicators interrupt each other and try to make each other appear more ridiculous than themselves. What I’m saying is, why bother calling it a debate? Remember the days when presidential debates were about substantive public policy issues? Maybe… Remember when the presidential… Keep Reading

Career Politicians – President Trump Says “You’re Fired!”

Congressional term limits have been a topic of conversation for decades in political circles.  Should members of Congress only be allowed to serve a certain number of terms?  Are career politicians a bad thing or is consistency good?  Well, the subject was once again thrust into the limelight when Presidential Candidate Donald Trump announced on Tuesday at a campaign rally in Colorado his plans to push for a Constitutional amendment imposing Congressional term limits.  Just as he would do in his ever so popular television series The Apprentice, Trump would like to look across the boardroom table at Congress, stick out… Keep Reading

The First Presidential Debate: The Crook Vs. The Clod

The first debate between the two least-admired nominees in electoral memory was a puerile display; an embarrassing 90-minute bum fight detrimental to the viewing public and inimical to a Republic which once had higher standards. At the end of 90 minutes, it is clear that Trump knows little to nothing about foreign policy, global economics, and how the Constitution works; while Hillary knows little to nothing about integrity, honesty and how the Constitution works. They are – both of them – unfit for the office, with Hillary being worse. Yes, Lester Holt asked Trump many negative questions (about tax returns, the “birther” issue, the… Keep Reading

Farage And Trump Show The Liberty Movement How Its Done

Last night, an amazing political spectacle took place in Mississippi. At an official campaign stop in Jackson, Donald Trump invited the notorious former UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage to talk about the historic Brexit vote, of which he was instrumental in orchestrating over in Jolly Ol’ England. The video coverage is powerful, and the speech was inspiring and optimistic. Here is Farage in his own words: Farage is a leader who really understands how to frame the issues. He has established his forces as the populist rabble, the ordinary folks taking back their sovereignty against a totalitarian bureaucracy that… Keep Reading

Hillary Clinton: The Undemocratic Nominee

Everyone’s suspicions were confirmed when it was revealed last week that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) had planned on a Hillary Clinton nomination before a single ballot was cast.  Through various leaked documents stretching back to before the voting actually began, we received a first hand look last week at the inner workings of the DNC and their love affair with electing another Clinton.  As it turns out, poor Bernie Sanders never stood a chance, and Democrats everywhere have been made to look like fools for believing their vote actually mattered in this rigged party nomination. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chairwoman… Keep Reading

Why I’m Voting – Despite Our Options

Look, I know it just as much as the next person – our options for President this year are horrible (and that is putting it nicely).  We have a power-hungry career politician who is under investigation with the FBI, a mediocre business man who loves spray tanning just a bit too much, and then there is Gary Johnson.  The options are rough, there is no disputing it – so bad in fact, that I have heard many family and friends simply saying I’m just not going to vote, what’s the point?  Or if I vote, I’ll write in Mickey Mouse… Keep Reading

Read This Before Rioting At a Political Rally

First of all, never punch anyone in the mouth. If their teeth nick your hand, that could lead to an infection. You will have to take an antibiotic if this happens. And if you punch a person wearing dentures, they could accidentally choke on them and die. So just one punch to the mouth can lead to a manslaughter charge. You are expecting to go to jail, right? There will be police and hundreds of witnesses with cell phones. And don′t think that a mask is enough to keep you out of legal trouble. America′s prisons are filled with people… Keep Reading

How To Get Forced Into Saying “I Told You So” Without Trying

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote an article for Liberty Conservatives Magazine predicting that the Rand Paul campaign would not see success in terms of voter numbers, but instead would leave a legacy with much larger implications than a short term presidential bid would normally have. I argued that Rand’s maverick approach to not only 2016, but his entire career as a politician thus far would go on to influence politics in a positive, long-term way, and that his supporters (a camp I find myself weaving in and out of depending on the issue at hand) should celebrate that… Keep Reading

Why Rand Paul’s Campaign Will Go Down In History

I haven’t written much about Rand Paul in a while – not because I don’t like the guy, but because I feel like his most loyal endorsers are often the better sort to be writing about his current campaign. After all, those who love you most are the best voices to have in your corner when you’re trying to become the next leader of the free world. But now that Rand’s campaign looks to be coming to a forced, rousing, and highly resisted end sooner than later (though I would be happy to be wrong on that prediction), I feel… Keep Reading

Ted Cruz Should Be Every Ron Paul Supporters’ Second Choice

Rand Paul is without doubt my first choice for the presidency. As the most libertarian member of the United States Senate, and the son of Ron Paul, Rand is strongly deserving of our support and I wholeheartedly endorse him for President of the United States. However, should he be unsuccessful in his presidential campaign and choose to leave the race at any time in the next few months, we should keep our options open, for there is clearly another candidate in the race with strong liberty credentials. 1. Ted Cruz is one of the most fiscally conservative members of the… Keep Reading

FEC: We Do Not Have a Filing Indicating Rand Paul Is Running

UPDATE: The FEC confirmed to CNBC that this filing relates to an earlier report by a pro-Rand Super PAC, and that Rand Paul has indeed not yet filed to run for President. A spokesman for the Rand Paul campaign later affirmed this statement. ORIGINAL POST: Though Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has yet to make an official announcement of his candidacy for President, and is widely expected to do so at an event in Louisville on April 7, he has made the decision to preemptively file with the Federal Election Commission as a Republican candidate for President of the United States,… Keep Reading
