Intolerant Left Bullies Uber CEO Into Dropping Out Of Trump Business Council

Once upon a time, the left wing of American politics favored the practice of diplomacy. Whereas Republicans had invaded Afghanistan and Iraq while favoring aggression against Iran, the Democratic Party sought to speak with Iran instead. While a questionable move with a dangerous foe, Democrats knew escalating tensions could trigger worse results.

During the most recent presidential election, President Donald Trump represented an aggressive change to politics. Many in the mainstream media and political left noted how he allegedly endorsed violence, spoke with fiery rhetoric, and otherwise embraced a more assertive brand of politics.

Democrats, as the narrative went, would represent a more rational alternative. We now know this is not the case.

Uber CEO Travis Kalanick has met the wrath of the Left’s anti-President Trump rampage for a couple reasons. First, when the controversial immigration executive order was passed, Uber was the only taxi service that still served customers. Other taxi companies were aiming to leave innocent travelers stranded as retaliation for a government action.

Kalanick was also a member of President Trump’s business advisory council, which would assemble various prominent business leaders to discuss important topics facing our nation. The Uber CEO even noted he would raise concerns regarding immigration policy when the council came together.

This wasn’t enough, though. Uber was bullied because they were willing to serve customers instead of take out their rage on regular Americans because the President did something they disagreed with. The thug tactics are growing progressively worse.

Being a part of a council to raise concerns directly was too much. What did the anti-President Trump crowd want? Riots have been on full display since the inauguration, with the aggression and violence gaining ground.

What happened to the endorsement of diplomacy and the belief that talking calmly can solve problems?

It’s disturbing to think of how things would have turned out if the Cuban Missile Crisis happened today. John F. Kennedy may have saved the world from nuclear annihilation, but he did it without going to war. He approached the problem from a careful and strategic diplomatic angle.

The abandonment of civility by the American left would have never supported this approach.

What would have happened had Kalanick been able to attend the business advisory council meeting and present his concerns about the immigration policies? While President Trump has his concerns regarding the refugee program, there were some flaws in the executive order’s roll out and it created an enormous mess.

Perhaps there could be middle ground that protects our Nation from terrorists who infiltrate the refugee program while continuing to be a safe haven for those oppressed?

Unfortunately, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick won’t have the opportunity to raise his policy concerns with fellow business leaders and President Donald Trump. Because of the thug tactics of liberal opponents of the President, Kalanick had to step back to save his company. Due to Kalanick trying to use this council to advance policy concerns and have a voice in the process, Democrats falsely claimed he was endorsing the immigration actions.

What’s more disturbing than anything President Trump has done at this point is the great lengths the American left is going to try to stop him and anyone connected to him.
