Cato VP Attacks Ron Paul, Calls His Ideas a “Hideous Corruption Of Libertarian Ideas”

in News by

In a series of tweets Wednesday afternoon, Cato Institute Vice President of Research Brink Lindsey called Ron Paul a xenophobe, conspiracy theorist, and Paul’s philosophy a “hideous corruption of libertarian ideas.” In two back-to-back tweets, the Cato VP stated that “the most prominent libertarian voice of recent times, Ron Paul, opposed all trade agreements and promoted anti-trade conspiracy theories” and “Ron Paul’s xenophobia was a hideous corruption of libertarian ideas and puts his movement in the Trumpism family tree.”

Trump Voters: Stop Syria Strikes, Put America First

in Politics by

Following President Trump’s airstrike in Syria, where over 50 cruise missiles were launched at a Syrian airbase in response to a chemical attack, something remarkable happened: Trump’s “America First” base revolted. First, #SyriaHoax started trending on Twitter, which called into question whether Assad’s government in Syria was responsible for the gas attack – many believed that it was a false flag attack by either Turkey, Saudi Arabia, or CIA-backed rebels meant to draw the U.S. into war, similar to the false-flag chemical attack in 2013. As Ron Paul said, “does anyone believe that on the eve of peace talks, just after the White House said the Syrian people should choose their own leaders, that Assad would launch a gas attack to turn the whole world against him?”

Non-Interventionists Praise Donald Trump For Giving $300 Billion Invoice To German Chancellor

in News by

President Donald Trump gave German Chancellor Angela Merkel a $300 billion invoice for money her country owes the United States for military protection. The $300 billion invoice, which Trump reportedly handed over to Merkel during private talks in Washington, was described as “brilliant” by Jason Kessler of Unity and Security for America, a non-interventionist grassroots lobbying group. “We’re happy that the President of the United States is finally doing something to put America first,” said Kessler. “By giving Merkel the $300 billion invoice, Trump is highlighting the billions of tax dollars that Americans wasted defending countries like Germany that refuse to defend themselves.”

The Masses In Motion: Why Libertarian Populism Is The Way Forward

in Politics by

For students of political strategy, the 2016 presidential race was a remarkable and informative election. This is especially true for grassroots libertarians who want to learn how to build an electoral coalition capable of winning national elections. It shows why libertarian populism must be the way forward for activists interested in advancing the liberty movement. Donald Trump – or should I say President Trump – accomplished something incredible: he methodically took down sixteen of the Republican Party’s best candidates in the primaries and then annihilated Hillary Clinton in an electoral landslide, holding on to traditional red states while winning states like Michigan and Pennsylvania that establishment Republicans could never even dream of winning. What made his victory even more amazing was that Trump managed to win these traditionally deep blue states despite being viciously attacked around the clock by the mainstream media, Democratic Party, and neoconservatives (who de facto are the Republican establishment). Trump accomplished all of this while turning the traditional political strategy of beltway elites on its…

How To Grow Your Grassroots Organization In Five Easy Steps

in Politics by

Are you tired of yelling at your TV or computer when some idiot spouts off with a downright stupid opinion? Do you want to graduate from being a keyboard warrior and become a real activist – you know, the kind that actually makes a difference? Or do you already run or volunteer for a liberty organization whose membership is dwindling and needs new people – but you have no idea where to find these new liberty-minded individuals? Well, then, look no further – presented below is my incredibly powerful yet outrageously simple five-step formula for creating and growing your very own grassroots organization. Using this formula as a Field Representative for the Leadership Institute I recruited over 1,500 people in two months – many of whom stuck around and created their own liberty-minded organizations.

Why Rex Tillerson Gives Neocons Heartburn

in News/Politics by
rex tillerson vs marco rubio

Donald Trump announced this morning that he will nominate ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson for Secretary of State. But Trump can’t expect to get Tillerson’s nomination through the Senate without a fight. In the days leading up to Trump’s official announcement, the Senate’s leading neocons – Lindsay Graham, Marco Rubio, and John McCain – all expressed opposition to Rex Tillerson. Tillerson also received critical coverage from leading neoconservative publications including the National Review and the Weekly Standard. So what is behind neoconservatives’ opposition to Tillerson?

Grand Valley State University Sued For Discriminating Against Conservative Students

in Culture/News/Politics by

Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys representing a conservative student group at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) filed a federal lawsuit against the school last Wednesday after the students faced discrimination and threats of arrest from campus administrators. University officials told members of the Turning Point USA chapter at the school that they could not hand out pocket constitutions and talk to students about the First Amendment because the members were not standing in one of the university’s two Orwellian “free speech zones.” GVSU police and administrators told club founder Tim McKeeby and member Joe Tucker that they would be arrested for trespassing if they didn’t cease their pro-free speech activism. In one incident, campus police told the students “if you continue to stay here, then we’ll need to arrest you.”
