Career Politicians – President Trump Says “You’re Fired!”

Congressional term limits have been a topic of conversation for decades in political circles.  Should members of Congress only be allowed to serve a certain number of terms?  Are career politicians a bad thing or is consistency good?  Well, the subject was once again thrust into the limelight when Presidential Candidate Donald Trump announced on Tuesday at a campaign rally in Colorado his plans to push for a Constitutional amendment imposing Congressional term limits.  Just as he would do in his ever so popular television series The Apprentice, Trump would like to look across the boardroom table at Congress, stick out his hand in that ever so recognizable gesture, and say, “You’re fired!” Maybe that is not such a bad idea, because after all, what has Congress really accomplished in recent history?  Lately, Congress has been nothing more than a place with lots of hot air and big egos, with neither Democrats or Republicans making attempts to try to work together to get things accomplished.  Why should we let people… Keep Reading

Sen. Tim Kaine: The Left’s Worst Nightmare?

On Friday, Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton named Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia her running mate for the 2016 election. This pick did not come as a surprise to political pundits, as the Senator was widely viewed a safe pick for the scandal-plagued candidate. Many people across the country may not know much about the Senator, however, because he is so safe. Over the coming months there will no doubt be many articles, op-eds, and the like telling us how great or how horrible he is, depending on the source. We already know quite a bit about Sen. Kaine, however, all it takes is a bit of research looking at his previous votes, quotes, and stances. Upon research, it looks like this pick could truly backfire for the Presidential hopeful. First off, for the modern Democratic party Sen. Kaine is rather conservative, or at the very least not very liberal. He is pro life, and has supported bans on partial birth abortion multiple times. This is completely against how… Keep Reading

The Inequality Of The Equality Movement

Equality – it is something that people fight for, something people desire, and I think most people would agree, something our society should strive for.  While the equality movement in America has represented various causes over the years, things like voting rights, racial issues, and feminism, it is now widely used to represent the LGBT movement.  The premise behind it is a noble one, and one that is very straightforward and simple – equal rights for everyone.  I think it is fair to say most people would agree that we all deserve to be treated equally on some level. This is turn raises a number of questions.  Why is it that the movement is only interested in protecting a particular segment of our population?  Why should the focus be on one particular group – and not EVERYONE?  Why does one group’s needs get prioritized over another?  Certainly the LGBT community is not the only one that isn’t treated equally.  We all deserve an equal voice, right?  Apparently that’s not the… Keep Reading

Hillary Clinton: The Undemocratic Nominee

Everyone’s suspicions were confirmed when it was revealed last week that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) had planned on a Hillary Clinton nomination before a single ballot was cast.  Through various leaked documents stretching back to before the voting actually began, we received a first hand look last week at the inner workings of the DNC and their love affair with electing another Clinton.  As it turns out, poor Bernie Sanders never stood a chance, and Democrats everywhere have been made to look like fools for believing their vote actually mattered in this rigged party nomination. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chairwoman of the DNC, has been the puppeteer behind the scenes pulling all the strings, making it virtually impossible for there to be anything but a Clinton on the ticket for the Democrats.  This should really come at no surprise for those familiar with Wasserman Schultz’s history, however, in 2008 she was co-chair for Hillary’s campaign.  This documents seem to solidify the link, and if nothing else, at least give… Keep Reading

Why I’m Voting – Despite Our Options

Look, I know it just as much as the next person – our options for President this year are horrible (and that is putting it nicely).  We have a power-hungry career politician who is under investigation with the FBI, a mediocre business man who loves spray tanning just a bit too much, and then there is Gary Johnson.  The options are rough, there is no disputing it – so bad in fact, that I have heard many family and friends simply saying I’m just not going to vote, what’s the point?  Or if I vote, I’ll write in Mickey Mouse or Santa Clause.  Well I have news for you!  Walt Disney is not going to come out of his frozen state of bliss to take office for a cartoon mouse he created, and Ol’ Saint Nick is too busy dancing with Donner and prancing with Vixen to want to run our country. That’s right everyone, it is time for us all to put our collective big boy pants on… Keep Reading
