Antifa Leader Files Frivolous Restraining Order Against Liberty Conservative Contributor

Yvette Felarca, the leader of the Northern California wing of By Any Means Necessary (BAMN), filed a frivolous restraining order against Troy Worden, an opinion contributor at The Liberty Conservative, falsely accusing Worden of engaging in harassment.

Initially, the court approved the order, as Felarca had four fellow BAMN organizers testify as witnesses, despite the fact that some of those organizers were not even present during the alleged interaction between Worden and Felarca.

Worden’s attorney, Mark Meuser, who is also The Liberty Conservative‘s Washington Correspondent, described the situation.

“Based upon her testimony, the court entered a temporary restraining order that prohibited Worden from being within 100 yards of Felarca,” Meuser said. “Because Felarca was regularly at the University of Berkeley handing out flyers to events, this prevented Worden from exercising his free speech rights on behalf of the College Republicans.”

However, following a court hearing which took place on Saturday, the restraining order was substantially weakened, on the grounds that Worden is a student at UC Berkeley, while Felarca has no association with the university.

“Based upon my oral argument and the testimony that the court had already heard, the Court reduced the temporary restraining order to only 10 yards thus renewing Worden’s ability to exercise his free speech rights on campus and to even get around campus when Yvette was present,” Meuser continued.

During the hearing, Meuser had noted that Felarca had attempted to constrain Worden’s freedom of speech by holding a public meeting on the UC Berkeley campus and then changing the location at the last minute. Felarca subsequently barred the door to the venue in order to prevent Worden and his fellow College Republicans from entering. Upon being warned by law enforcement that she could not restrict access to her event, she ended the meeting and headed to the UC Berkeley plaza, where her and her fellow BAMN activists engaged in further theatrics.

Felarca, a humanities teacher at a local middle school, was previously jailed and charged with felony assault back in July for her involvement in an anti-Trump riot in Sacramento, California in June 2016. She also took part in the riot against Milo Yiannopoulos’s speech at UC Berkeley in February 2017, falsely accusing him of being a “fascist” and a “white supremacist” who was visiting the campus in order to “recruit more fascists and to wage attacks on Muslim students, immigrant students, women and trans students.”

“Riots are the voice of the unheard,” Felarca has claimed, endorsing violence against anyone on the political right. Furthermore, she has declared that all those on the left “have an obligation” to “shut [the right-wing] down”.

BAMN is one of America’s most prominent Antifa groups, boasting links to the Revolutionary Workers League (RWL) and the New Communist Movement (NCM). Along with other Antifa organizations such as Refuse Fascism, the Workers World Party (WWP), the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP), the Metropolitan Anarchist Coordinating Council (MACC), Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), California Immigrant Youth Justice Alliance (CIYJA), Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), and Redneck Revolt, it is waging a violent, far-left insurgency against the democratically elected government of President Donald Trump, which it seeks to overthrow. The Antifa movement is also known to target various opponents of the Trump administration, such as conservative commentator Ben Shapiro and Democrat House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, whom it perceives as not going far enough in their opposition to the President.

Due to the onslaught of legal actions being brought against the Berkeley College Republicans for simply standing for free speech, Worden has launched a FreeStartr legal defense fund to cover expenses incurred.
